The Minister of Agriculture of the Government of National Accord discusses with the Pakistani Ambassador the prospects for cooperation in the agricultural fields.

Tripoli, July 21, 2020 (LANA) - Minister of Agriculture,
Livestock and Marine in the Government of National Accord "Abdul
Basit Al-Ghunaimi" discussed with the Pakistani Ambassador to Libya
"Sajid Iqbal" the prospects for bilateral cooperation, and ways to
enhance and develop it, in the agricultural, livestock and marine
areas.
Also during the meeting held this morning at the Ministry's
headquarters in Tripoli, Libya's affirmation to strengthening and
developing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two
friendly countries in various fields and food industries was
confirmed.
For his part, the Pakistani ambassador expressed his country's
readiness to cooperate in terms of providing plant seeds, tissue
cultivation, olive cultivation, investment in grains and exchange of
agricultural products in addition to cooperation in the field of
plant cover cultivation, harvest and exchange of animal breeds.
The director of the Cooperation Office at the Ministry of Agriculture
(Abdel Hakim Adghis) said that the meeting discussed aspects of
cooperation between the Libyan Agricultural Bank and the Pakistan
Agricultural Bank, strengthening the activity between them and
focusing on programs for agricultural machinery, pesticides,
fertilizers, and agricultural trade exchange in vegetables, fruits,
grains, and oilseeds.
Edgis added that the issues of water, energy and manpower for
agricultural needs and cooperation with agricultural educational
institutions were among the most important topics discussed with the
Pakistani ambassador Sajid Iqbal.
The Pakistani ambassador presented a proposal to grant 20
scholarships to obtain a master's degree and study at Pakistani
universities in various disciplines, including grants (study costs -
books - health insurance - accommodation and university housing).
