Tunisia, July 19, 2020 (LANA) - The Tunisian Defense Minister, Imad
Al-Hazqi, said that the exceptional and dangerous situation in Libya
had prompted Tunisia to double its caution and prudence by deploying
the army along the common border, calling on Tunisian citizens on the
border to understand the accuracy and seriousness of the situation.
This came in statements made by Al-Hazqi carried by the Tunisian News
Agency "TAP" during his attendance, on Friday, of the graduation of
the course "Major Fawzi Al-Zayati" at the Military Academy at the new
hotel.
In response to a question about fears of infiltrators carrying the
Corona virus, Al-Hazqi said: The fears are not due to the
infiltration of those who carry the virus, but rather the dangerous
and exceptional situation in Libya, where there is war and a large
flow of arms, adding that this situation pushed Tunisia to Double the
caution and prudence by deploying the army along the common border.
He pointed to an escalation in the frequency of infiltration
attempts, which he said would be addressed in full severity and
professionalism, especially since the border areas are military
buffer zones, in which the law allows the army to use all means to
address these phenomena, and called on Tunisian citizens on the
border to understand the accuracy and seriousness of the situation
and not Increase its complexity to avoid any events in the buffer
zone.
