America in Libya welcomed the announcement of the National Oil
Corporation to resume production in the Sharara oil field.
The embassy considered in a statement that the resumption of
production in the Sharara field is an important step forward,
stressing that the National Oil Corporation is carrying out its
decisive and non-political mandate to promote the interests of all
Libyans, stressing the need to end the closure of the unnecessary
Libyan oil sector five months ago, according to the embassy.
The US embassy said: "It is time for all responsible parties to
reject attempts to militarize the energy sector and divide Libyan
economic institutions.
The National Oil Corporation in the capital, Tripoli, announced the
return of production in the Sharara oil field located in southern
Libya, after long negotiations by the corporation to open the Hamada
valve.
The Foundation stressed that the first stage of production will start
with a capacity of 30 thousand barrels per day, expecting production
to return to full capacity within 90 days due to the damage resulting
from the very long closure.
