Merkel' stressed that Europe has an interest in preventing the
escalation of the conflict in Libya as long as this may unleash a
wave of asylum similar to what happened during the conflict in Syria.
At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Merkel cautioned
against hurrying to cancel the nuclear deal with Iran, saying it
would be a mistake to abandon the "defective" agreement before
concluding another agreement better than it.
She added that Europe's mistake regarding the 2015 refugee crisis
is not that it allows refugees to enter, but that it does not pay
sufficient attention to the conditions that precipitated it in Syria.
