Tunisia and France agree on the necessity of a cease-fire and a return to dialogue in Libya.

Rome, 11.01.2020 - Lana - The Secretary of State in charge of the
operation of the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs 'Sabri Bash
Tabji', had received the French Foreign Minister 'Jean-Yves Le
Drian', who is on an official visit to Tunisia.
The meeting touched, according to the media office of the Tunisian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on a number of regional and
international issues of common concern, the foremost of which are the
developments of political and military situations in Libya.
The two sides stressed the need for a ceasefire between the
conflicting parties and a return to the negotiating table to reach a
peaceful solution under the auspices of the United Nations.
It was agreed to enhance further bilateral consultation and
coordination on this file in the Security Council in the light of
Tunisia joining as a non-permanent member in this international
structure for the period 2020-2021 as the voice of Arab and African
countries.
