Sahel leaders Blame International Community for Libya Debacle.

Niamey, 17 December 2019( Lana) Leader of the five Sahel
nations, Mauritania, Mali, Chad, Niger, and Burkina Faso have said
that lack of security in the region was because of the situation in
Libya.
In a communiqué issued at the end of an emergency summit they
held in Niamey, the leaders blamed the international community for
this and demanded bigger engagement in the war against terror in the
Sahel region.
They appealed to the international community to continue to
support the joint force, and demanded that the UN Security Council
give the force a mandate under chapter seven.
The leaders stressed the need to put up all the resources needed
to combat terrorism in all forms.
'Lack of security and stability in Libya is the core of terrorism
phenomenon in the region, the President of Burkina Faso Roch Marc
Kabore said in a press conference at the end of the summit.
