UN Secretary General: Berlin Conference on Libya Window to Stability in Sahel Region.

Berlin 28 November 2019(Lana) UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said the conference being arranged in Berlin would be a opportunity for all those with influence in regard to the conflict in Libya. In a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Guterres expressed his appreciation of Merkel initiative for holding an international conference on Libya, according to the UN official website. 'The Berlin Conference aims for a ceasefire and preparing for a political process capable of restoring peace to Libya which is prelude to achieving stability in the Sahel region and enhancing movement of people in the region, Guterres said. The UN Secretary General was in Berlin to attend the 14th Forum on Internet Governance, one of the major international meetings this year. Berlin seeks to host an international conference on Libya attended by major international players, to find a solution to the crisis in the country. =Lana=
