WHO Warns Against Increasing Number of Tuberculosis Cases in Libya.

Tripoli, 7 November 2019(Lana) The World Health Organisation said
its emergency team has conducted more than 200 operations in Libya
over the last two weeks, in cooperation with the UN and the EU
Missions in Libya, and the British Department for International
Development DFID.
The agency said it conducted surgical operations in different
parts of the country in 24 medical care centres, including 163 minor
surgical operations and 4574 medical consultations.
The Organisation warned against an increasing number of
Tuberculosis patients, and said it expected the number to double by
the end of 2019.
The Organisation said it needed $ 1.7 million to buy drugs and
medical equipment, and to train doctors and nurses on Tuberculosis
diagnosis and treatment. 250 migrants were infected with the disease
in 2018, it said.
