Tripoli, 19.10.2019 - Lana - The director of the National Center
for Disease Control (CDC), Dr. "Badr Edeen Basher Al-Najjar",
announced that the center has registered more than 10,000 cases of
leishmaniasis during the past year.
Dr. Al-Najjar said in a press statement that one of the reasons
for the outbreak of the disease is the stoppage of the control
programs permanently, which led to the multiplication of the insect
vector "sand fly" and animal reservoirs of the disease.
