Presidency Council Blames UN Mission for Death of Children in Arial Shelling in Al Fernaj.

Tripoli, 15 October 2019(Lana) The Presidency Council of the
Government of National Accord has blamed the UN Support Mission in
Libya UNSMIL for the air raid which targeted children in the Tripoli
neighbourhood of Al Fernaj on Monday, Calling for protection for
civilians in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
The Council demanded, in a statement, humanitarian and jurist
organisations to document crimes which violate the International
Humanitarian Law and the Human Rights Law, and to bring the
perpetrators to justice.
The Presidency Council of the Government of National Accord
condemned in the strongest terms the aerial bombardment which
targeted a home in the neighbourhood of Al Fernaj in Tripoli on
Monday, killing and wounding a number of people including women and
children.
'This criminal act by the war criminal adds to a series of
repeated assaults on airports and public and private property, which
terrorised civilians and violated international laws and conventions,
the statement said.
'The absence of a firm and a repelling position on part of the
international community towards the war criminal and his aggressor
militias has encouraged them to continue their aggression and commit
crimes against civilians, it added.
