US State Department: We Support Libyan-led National Conference Under UN Auspices.

Washington, 14 November 2018(Lana) The US State Department has
welcomed the results of the Palermo Conference hosted by Italy from
12-13 November and attended by key players domestically and abroad.
'This conference has brought together Libyan and international
leaders to achieve a common goal, which is assisting Libyan
institutions break the stalemate, and ensure a safe and prosperous
future for all Libyans, the State Department Spokeswoman Heather
Nauert said in a statement.
The statement urged Libyans to work with the UN Special Envoy to
Libya Ghasan Salama, to establish a comprehensive constitutional
process, and to hold credible elections, stressing US commitment that
those interrupting the peace and stability of Libya would be held to
account.
The statement noted what has been stressed by the Palermo
Conference that any progress would require constant attention to be
given to the economic and security aspects of the conflict,
indicating that the US had detected encouraging signs out of the GNA
commitment to execute thorough reforms in the currency and financial
support areas, which Libya badly needed to stabilize its economy.
