Siala at Beijing Forum: Distinguished Relationship Between Libya and China.

Beijing, 6 September 2018(Lana) The GNA Foreign Minister Mohamed
Siala has said that Libya and China were linked together by a
distinguished relationship based on mutual respect and
non-intervention, saying '2018 marked the 40th anniversary of
establishment of diplomatic relations between our two friendly
countries.'
Speaking before the Forum on China Africa Cooperation 'FOCAC'
summit meeting, Siala who was representing the Head of the Government
of National Accord, said relations between the two countries
developed over the last forty years, and currently the volume of
projects carried out by Chinese companies in Libya had reached 19
billion dollars. We look forward to a return of Chinese companies to
Libya, he said.
Libya has always expressed its commitment to the principle of one
China, the integrity of Chinese soil, we work with China in
international forums and share common objectives such as reforming
the UN Security Council, banning of mass destruction weapons and
combating drugs, illegal migration and terrorism, Siala told the
conference.
'We expressed our satisfaction for the negotiation framework
reached by China and the South East Asia nations on the code of
conduct terms in the South China Sea, Siala added.
He said Libya and China have concluded a number of agreements and
memos of understanding aimed at bolstering and upgrading exchange
between the two countries in all areas. The Libyan-Chinese Friendship
Society is the fruits of historical cooperation that dated back to
several decades, he added.
