President of Presidency Council Meets With Canadian Ambassador.

Tripoli, 12 August 2018(Lana) The President of the Presidency
Council of the Government of National Accord Fayez Al Serraj on
Sunday met the Canadian Ambassador Hillary Childish Adams. The
meeting was attended by the PC Political Adviser Al Taher Al Sunni,
and Foreign Ministry officials.
According to the Council's Information Office the Ambassador
expressed his appreciation for the efforts mounted by the Council to
restore stability to the country and pledged Canada's support for the
Government of National Accord.
The Ambassador said her country was committed to enhancing
bilateral exchange and interested in the reforms introduced by the
Government.
on his part, the President of GNA praised Canada's support for
the Government and the democratic transition in the country, and said
he had demanded the declared reforms more than two years ago to
address the defects in the monetary and economic sectors.
As for the elections, the President said he and the Ambassador
have agreed that there should be a firm constitutional basis for
holding the elections, indicating that the presidential and
parliamentary elections should be simultaneous.
The Ambassador said she has agreed to the President's demand for
grants for Libyan students in Canada and a program for training in
the technical and vocational areas.
The President said he looked forward to the embassy resuming work
from Tripoli.
