President of PC receives Italian defense Minister.

Tripoli, 25 July 2018 (Lana) President of Presidency Council of GNA, Fayez Al Saraj received Tuesday in Tripoli Italian Minister of Defense, Elisabetta, Trenta. Trenta underscored the outstanding relations between the two friendly peoples, and renewed Italian government support to the efforts of President of PC to restore security and stability in Libya, as well as its support to the national reconciliation and the democratic track as seen by Libyans. Trenta said the Mediterranean which brings the two countries together, in terms of culture and cooperation and communication is bringing us together in the face of illegal migration from which Libya and Italy suffer. Al Saraj for his part stressed the depth of relations between the two countries and his aspirations for constructive relationship to serve the interests of the two peoples. " Migration is existing from ancient times, what is important is how to manage it, and that remedy should be comprehensive including supporting source countries in terms of development to create work opportunities and not to be forced into cleaving them in perils fraught adventure' he added. Al sqarraj asked Italy for support by partial lifting of the embargo to equip a force to fight terrorism and oil installation guards, and presidency guards which are security entities that work for maintaining stability. The Praised praised assistance offered by Italy to the coast guard to enable the body carry out its tasks in rescue operations and track human smugglers and traffickers. The meeting also discussed return of Italian companies to resume their work in Libya and set up joint committee to review previous contracts. It also touched on programmes to support the health sector and dispatching Italian medical teams to Libya and dispatching Libyan patients to Italy for treatment besides cooperation in energy and power. =Lana=
