Amitiq announces Libya categorical rejection of any migrant camps in Libya.

Tripoli, 25 June 2018(Lana) Deputy President, Ahmed Amitiq announced Libya categorical rejection of any migrant camps in Libya, due to contradiction with Libyan law. He said Libya would support any Libyan national program based on partnership with the EU. At a joint press conference with the Italian deputy prime minister and minister of interior, Mathew Salveni, Amitiq said Libya offered proposals on migration to the EU and agrees with the Europeans on many points regarding illegal migration asserting that the solution for this file is available with the Libyan government . Amitiq praised the efforts made by Italy in support of Libya in the field of stabilization, the fight against terrorism, calling on Europeans parents to follow the Italian example in this respect. He said many European countries partner with Libya in various aspects, but the program must be Libyan. He stressed the assistance must be offered through the GNA and the presidency council. He said he called on the EU through Italy for a conference on migration in September to address the migration issue through Libyan -Italian vision in order to put a solution to the migration file which Libya as well as Italy suffered immensely. The Italian minister voiced support to Libya praising efforts made by Libyan coast guard. Salveni underscored underlined the coherent stance of his country with that of Libya on illegal migration. He voiced hope for a common vision that serves both countries in this respect during mid September conference . =Lana=
