French President: presence of 20 countries for Paris meeting shows global commitment to political solution in Libya.

Paris, 29 May 2018(Lana) French President, Emanuel Macron said the presence of 20 countries for the international meeting in Paris on Libya Tuesday, demonstrates world commitment to a political solution in Libya, and show unity of of the international community on Libya, and Libyans should be given the right to exercise their political democratic right. He described the meeting as historic and basic step for political solution in Libya. There are consensus on unification of institutions in Libya through gradual track and lay down agenda so that a constitutional base is approved for elections whether through referendum or agreeing on election law that allows elections. The unsigned agreement comprises right points: - importance of constitutional bases for election and support of UN Social Representative in his consultations with Libyan authorities. - Parliamentary and presidential elections based on agreement with all relevant Libyans sides. - accepting outcome of the elections. - securing elections by Libyan security. - improve general situation to allow for elections to be held. - commitment to UN support to build strong and professional military and security institution. =Lana=
