Memorandum of Understanding Signed by Ministry of Justice and 'EUBAM'.

Tripoli, 15 February 2018(Lana) A memo of understanding was signed on Wednesday by the GNA Ministry of Justice and the EU Border Assistance Mission 'EUBAM'. The memo calls for Libya to utilize the EU expertise in criminal justice, capacity building in the area of justice and other judicial and control bodies as well as management of prisons and judicial infrastructure as confirmed by the GNA Minister of Justice. The assistance offered by the EU is logistical one and will help Libya acquire international expertise, the Justice Minister Mohamed Abdul Wahid said. On her part the head of the EU Delegation in Libya Bettina Muscheidt said the signing of the memo was an important step for cooperation between the EU and Libya. It said the memo provided for international assistance to Libya to build its criminal justice system, train Judicial Police and organize workshops and seminars to upgrade the judicial system. =Lana=
