Chair of UNHCR Mission in Libya: Mission Will Continue to Support Libya Combat of Illegal Migration.

Tripoli, 24 July 2017(Lana) The Head of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees mission in Libya Roberto Menon has stressed that the mission will continue to support Libya combating illegal migration. Menon paid praised in statements following a meeting with the Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs Lutfi Al Mugherbi, the efforts being made by Libyan authorities to curb illegal migration from Libya. He outlined the UN the support that the UN could offer and what the Libyan authorities can do to help the displaced return to their homes. 'The UN appreciates the scope of the problem facing Libya in getting this issue resolved , and would offer a package of assistance either in kind or in the form of projects, he said. He said UNHCR shares Libya's viewpoint that a solution to the problem of migration starts in the South and countries of origin not in the transit countries. =Lana=
