Pulbished on:
New York, 5 January 2017(Lana) The UN Special Representative and Head of the Support Mission in Libya Martin Kobler has expressed concern over the latest developments in Libya namely the latest events in central Libya. In a statement on Wednesday, Kobler said 'I call on all parties to act prudently and to settle problems through peaceful negotiations.' He urged all parties to refrain from agitating the situation in the country. The Head of the UN mission said there was a need to join all efforts to reach an agreement on execution of the Political Agreement, expressing his support for the fight against terrorism. UN former Secretary General BAN Ki Mon indicated in mid December that 'there is a long way to peace in Libya, and the delay in implementing the political agreement will not bring stability to the country.' Meanwhile, the Algerian Minister in Charge of Maghrebian and AU Affairs Abdul Gader Msahel said at a meeting with the President of the High State Council on Wednesday Algeria had defended its position that a political solution to the Libyan crisis was the way forward.' =Lana=
