Kobler Concerned With Escalation in Libya.

New York, 5 January 2017(Lana) The UN Special Representative and
Head of the Support Mission in Libya Martin Kobler has expressed
concern over the latest developments in Libya namely the latest
events in central Libya.
In a statement on Wednesday, Kobler said 'I call on all parties
to act prudently and to settle problems through peaceful
negotiations.'
He urged all parties to refrain from agitating the situation in
the country.
The Head of the UN mission said there was a need to join all
efforts to reach an agreement on execution of the Political
Agreement, expressing his support for the fight against terrorism.
UN former Secretary General BAN Ki Mon indicated in mid December
that 'there is a long way to peace in Libya, and the delay in
implementing the political agreement will not bring stability to the
country.'
Meanwhile, the Algerian Minister in Charge of Maghrebian and AU
Affairs Abdul Gader Msahel said at a meeting with the President of
the High State Council on Wednesday Algeria had defended its position
that a political solution to the Libyan crisis was the way forward.'
