New York, 16 December 2020(Lana) The UN Security Council agreed on Tuesday to appoint Nikolay Mladenov as the new UN Special Envoy to Libya, Diplomat said. Tripoli, 16 December 2020(Lana) The Central Bank of Libya has approved an amended exchange rate of the Libyan dinar against the US dollar at LD 4.48. In a statement it issued on Wednesday, the CBL said it has discussed a report by the committee, at a meeting held by the board of directors, and decided to endorse the new rate as of January 3, 2021, to be applicable for all foreign currency purchasing purposes, government, commercial and personal. Tripoli, 16 December 2020(Lana) - The National Disease Control Centre (NDCC) has issued a daily CoronaVirus update in Libya for Wednesday Dec.16. The NDCC said it received 3300 samples for PCR testing, 2740 have turned out to be negative, and 560 positive. The NDCC Communication Committee said the Centre has recorded 576 recoveries and 5 deaths in the last 24 hours.
