Sochi, 24 October 2019(Lana) A historic meeting was convened in the city of Sochi, which brought together Russia and a number of African countries, to discuss economic cooperation between the Russian side and the African countries. The meeting was presided over by Russian President Putin and the Egyptian President, being the current Chairman of the African Union. The Summit was attended by heads of state and government from 43 African countries. Sochi, 24 October 2019(Lana) Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sesi met his Russian Counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Russia-African Economic Forum. The two sides reviewed regional and international issues, and exchanged viewpoints over a host of issues in the Middle East including the Libyan crisis. Tripoli, 24 October 2019(Lana) The Chairman of the Board of the Libyan National Oil Company Mustafa Sun'allah said the Libyan economy is need of a transition plan, to go hand in hand with political work. UNICEF: All Libyan Parties Should Refrain From Shelling Civilians.

Tripoli, 24 October 2019(Lana) The UN children organisation UNICEF said that recent attacks served as a reminder that children pay the heaviest price as violence continued in a number of areas in western Libya. Children must be protected anytime anywhere, and all parties to the conflict should refrain from shelling civilian targets including homes, hospitals and schools the Organization said.
