America and Europe Welcome Agreement of Libya Parties to Hold New Round of Negotiations.

Washington, 11 January 2015(Lana) The United States, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Britain have welcomed agreement by parties to the conflict in Libya to hold a new round of talks in Geneva in the coming days, in a bid to end the crisis in the country. They urged in a statement the parties to take part, in a serious fashion, in the UN-sponsored dialogue, to scale down the humanitarian crisis and to avert the country sliding into further anarchy. Family of Al Megrahi Seeks Review of his Conviction in Lockerbie Bombing.

Tripoli, 11 January 2015(Lana) The relatives of Abdul Baset Al Mergrahi, convicted in the Lockerbie bombing, have filed a request to review his conviction in the 1988 incident in which 259 were killed. The CNN news channel has quoted the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission as saying they have received a request to review the conviction of Al Megrahi in the bombing of the Pan Am flight over Scotland. Tripoli, 11 January 2015(Lana) The National Salvation Government Foreign Ministry has said it was following with concern the issue involving disappearance of two Tunisian journalists Sufyan Al Shwarbi and Nadir Al Katari in eastern Libya since September 8, 2014. In a statement the Ministry said a telephone contact was conducted on Friday between President Baji Gayed Al Sebsi and Foreign Minister Mohamed Al Ghirani. Tripoli, 11 January 2015(Lana) The trial of key officials of the former regime which was resumed in Tripoli on Sunday adjourned trial of the case NO 630/2012, in which defendants face charges of suppressing the Feb 17 revolution as filed by the general prosecution.
