Tripoli, 16 September 2020(Lana) Today September 16, marks the 89th anniversary of the martyrdom of the legendary hero of struggle against the Italian Fascist occupation Omar Al Mukhtar. Al Mukhtar who led the fighting against the Italian occupation forces for 20 years was captured after numerous battles and hanged by the colonial forces in the town of Sulug on September 16, 1931. Libya: Interior Ministry Initiates Section for Combating Financial Crimes and Terrorism Funding.

New York, 16 September 2020(Lana) UN Security Council has extended the mandate of the UN Support Mission in Libya UNSMIL for a year until September 15, 2021, calling for an overview of its leadership structure and priorities for teh first time since it was founded in 2011.
