Libyan Press Freedom Centre: 31 Violations Against Journalists and Media Organs Registered in 2nd Quarter of 2015.

Tripoli, 16 July 2105(Lana) The Libyan Press Freedom Centre has said that political division and the security crisis in the country have overshadowed the freedom of the press, and threaten its very existence. A report issued by the centre said local journalists were exercising self-censorship, as a result of threats and harassment in their cities and towns which often pass with impunity. Tripoli, 16.07.2015(Lana) Head of United National Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Bernardino Leon has praised the recent release of many prisoners in Western Libya, urging all parties to release all detainees by the end of Ramadan. Jadu, 15.07.2015(Lana) A preparatory meeting was held for militray men from the coastal and mountain area to discuss several issues related to organizing military institution in Jebel Nufusa and Sahle. The meeting called for by Jadu Military Council included over 200 officers and would be followed by many other meetings.
