America, Britain and France express in a joint statement their support for Khoury to bring together the Libyan parties to resolve the Central Bank crisis.

Tunis, September 8, 2024 (LANA) - The embassies of France, the United Kingdom and the United States expressed their full support for the efforts made by the Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Khoury, to bring together the Libyan parties to resolve the ongoing crisis in the Central Bank of Libya.

The three embassies said in a statement following consultations held in Tunisia today, Sunday, and published by the US embassy on its account on the (X) platform, that the economic and financial stability in Libya is at stake.

The three countries urged all parties to quickly reach the necessary concessions to begin restoring the integrity and stability of the Central Bank and its standing with the international financial community during the resumption of their talks tomorrow, Monday, mediated by the United Nations mission, according to the statement.

The statement of the embassies of the three countries called on all parties to work towards reaching long-term agreements on the distribution of Libyan oil revenues for the benefit of all Libyan citizens.

The statement of the embassies of America, Britain and France said that at this critical moment, it is imperative that all parties avoid taking further unilateral measures that could undermine Libya's stability and instead take serious steps to calm the situation.
