Al-Manfi holds bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart on building a strategic partnership between the two countries
Pulbished on:Beijing, September 4, 2024 (LANA) - The President of the Presidential Council, "Mohammed Al-Manfi", held bilateral talks today, Wednesday, with his counterpart, the President of the People's Republic of China, "Xi Jinping".
The media office of the Presidential Council stated that the meeting focused on reviewing the course of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them, and the importance of building a strategic partnership that serves the interests of both sides.
The two sides also discussed the importance of activating the Libyan-Chinese Joint Committee, and agreeing on the return of Chinese companies to Libya according to a mechanism agreed upon through the committee.
The Chinese President stressed during the meeting his country's readiness to provide all forms of support and cooperation with Libya in various fields during the coming period, stressing China's firm stand with the Libyan people and the Presidential Council in preserving Libya's sovereignty and unity. He also called for stopping all negative interference in Libyan affairs and praised the role of the President of the Council in strengthening national unity and preparing the appropriate conditions for holding elections, indicating his country's aspiration to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership with Libya, which enhances cooperation in all vital fields.
