Tripoli, March 31, 2024 (LANA) - Representative in the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, received today, Sunday, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Libya, Aydar Aganin, to discuss the latest developments in the political process in Libya, and a number of international and regional issues.
The meeting discussed the efforts of the Presidential Council in the national reconciliation file, and preparations for the convening of the inclusive national conference in which all segments of the Libyan people will participate.
Al-Lafi appreciated Russia's keenness to support the peaceful path, and all the efforts made to achieve permanent stability in Libya.
In turn, the Russian ambassador praised, during the meeting, the role of Al-Lafi and the Presidential Council in addressing the political impasse and restoring confidence between all parties, considering that the national reconciliation project will enhance the chances of achieving peace and meeting the aspirations of the Libyan people.
