Tripoli, February 22, 2024 (LANA) - Today, Thursday, Libya submits its brief to the International Court of Justice in The Hague in a public hearing regarding the legal consequences arising from the policies and practices of the occupying Zionist entity in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.

China, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Malaysia, and Mauritius are also scheduled to present their oral briefings before the court in two morning and evening sessions.

Earlier, Libya's ambassador to the Netherlands, Ziad Daghim, announced that Libya had joined the legal proceedings before the International Court of Justice, to consider the lawsuit filed by the State of South Africa against "Israel" on charges of violating the Genocide Convention during its war on the Gaza Strip.

The hearings come in the context of the United Nations General Assembly’s request to obtain an advisory opinion from International Justice on the effects of the Israeli occupation that has continued for more than 57 years.
