Al-Dabaiba meets with President Erdogan on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in the UAE.

Dubai, February 13, 2024 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, met today, Tuesday, in Dubai, with the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit held in the Emirates.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Labor, Rehabilitation and State for Cabinet Affairs, the Libyan Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, the Presidential Advisor for National Security Affairs, and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Trade of Turkey.

  According to the media office of the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, the meeting discussed the results of the meeting between “Dabaiba” and President “Erdogan” that was held in Istanbul last October, and discussed ways of economic cooperation between the two countries, in addition to discussing the Libyan political file, and supporting international efforts to hold elections and end the transitional stages.

During the meeting, it was agreed to support efforts to end the aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza, bring humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and unify the Islamic position on this file, according to the office.

During this meeting, the situation in Libya's neighboring countries was also discussed, and the unification of efforts between Libya and Turkey for calm and stability, which is important to both countries.

The media office of the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government added that President Erdogan affirmed at the conclusion of the meeting that the National Unity Government is the only legitimate government that the world and Turkey are dealing with. He also affirmed his readiness to support any dialogue that leads to the stability of Libya and its access to elections without new transitional stages.
