Libyan-Bulgarian discussion session at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Tripoli.

Tripoli, February 13, 2024 (LANA) - A Libyan-Bulgarian discussion session was held today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, headed by the Director of the European Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “Abdul Rahman Khamadeh,” and the Director of the Middle East and Africa Department at the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “Romen Petrov.”

During the discussion session, which was attended by members of the two delegations, the joint desire to review the bilateral agreements signed between the two countries was emphasized in order to update them and to prepare to enhance bilateral cooperation and develop relations in all fields.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a joint statement was issued affirming the desire of the Bulgarian side to resume the activity of the Bulgarian mission in the capital, Tripoli.

The statement also affirmed the desire of the two parties to encourage the exchange of visits at various levels and to initiate the necessary relevant measures to build sustainable partnerships and cooperation in various fields.

The statement also included the start of the process of preparing a bilateral economic forum in optimal coordination with the participation of representatives of the public and private sectors in both countries.
