The High Council for Libyan Women to Batili: We will provide a written contribution on how to end the political impasse in the country.

Tripoli, December 7, 2023 (LANA) - The UN envoy, Abdullah Batili, met on Wednesday evening with a number of members of the Supreme National Council for Libyan Women, as part of his consultations with all Libyan components.

       According to a tweet by “Batili” via his account on the “X” platform, the participants in the meeting criticized the lack of representation of women at all levels, and called for empowering Libyan women to have meaningful political participation. They also welcomed my invitation to hold a dialogue between key actors, and promised to provide a written contribution on how to end the political impasse in the country.

    For his part, Batili said, “I stressed the need for political leaders to work to create favorable conditions so that Libyans can elect legitimate and accountable institutions. I also called on them to adjust their positions to the adherence to unity and desire for peace and stability demonstrated by all components of the Libyan people.”
