Minister of Labor discusses with his Gambian counterpart aspects of joint cooperation.

Tripoli, December 3, 2023 (Lana): The GNU Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Rida, discussed with the Minister of Transport, Labor, and Infrastructure of Gambia, Ebrima Sylla, aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries.

This came following the conclusion of the Conference of Labor Ministers of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States, where the two ministers affirmed the depth of friendly relations between the two countries and their commitment to develop bilateral relations, especially in the area of labor and rehabilitation.

Al-Rida stressed the Ministry’s commitment to the establishments to providing a safe work environment for both national and foreign workers, including workers from Gambia, noting that the Ministry has launched the Wafid digital platform to register foreign workers’ data.

For his part, Sylla stressed his country’s commitment to strengthen fruitful cooperation with Libya in the areas of labor mobility, commending the role of the Ministry of Labor in holding the Conference of Labor Ministers of the Community of Sahel-Saharan Countries in Tripoli and stressing at the same time the importance of strengthening work at the regional level on labor issues.
