Bathily affirms his agreement with the Tunisian Foreign Minister on the urgency for Libyan leaders to meet.

Tunis, December 3, 2023 (Lana): The UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, discussed with the Tunisian Foreign Minister, Nabil Ammar, in Tunis the latest political developments in Libya.

“I met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia, Nabil Ammar, yesterday in Tunis, where we reviewed recent political developments in Libya and agreed on the urgency for Libyan leaders to meet and agree on a consensual pathway to elections for peace and prosperity in their country.” Bathily said in a tweet.

“I further expressed my gratitude to the Government of Tunisia for hosting and supporting UNSMIL as well as for their role in supporting unity, peace, and stability in Libya,” he added.
