Libyan Coast and Border Guard participates in the Border Security Conference in RomePulbished on:
Rome, November 30, 2023 - A delegation from the Ministry of Interior and the Coast Guard and Border Guard Service at the Ministry of Defense participated today, Thursday, in the fifth meeting of the Integrated Border Security Management Project in the Italian capital, Rome.
The meeting was attended by the European Union Ambassador, representatives of the European Commission and the International Organization for Migration, representatives of some European countries supporting the project, and representatives of the Italian Interior and Defense Ministries.
The meeting discussed mechanisms for monitoring illegal migration flows through the Sahara and the central Mediterranean and providing the necessary support to the Libyan Coast Guard, while identifying the necessary needs to secure land borders.
During the meeting, previous and subsequent activities, the necessary training courses for workers at sea and border guards were determined.
