Tripoli, September 24, 2023 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, “Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba,” discussed in the evening with the Regional Director of UNICEF in the Middle East and North Africa, “Adele Khodour,” a discussion of coordinating efforts and supporting the affected areas in the east of the country.
The meeting, which was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tripoli, was devoted to organizing UNICEF’s efforts in Derna by supporting the primary health care system, coordinating with the National Center for Disease Control and the Environmental Sanitation Department at the Ministry of Local Government, in addition to activating the statistical survey system for children through the organization’s statistics office and the Ministry of Planning. .
Al-Dabaiba stressed the need to consolidate cooperation in the field of supporting primary health care between UNICEF and the National Center for Disease Control, and to focus on the municipality of Derna and its neighboring municipalities in providing the services needed by citizens affected by torrents and floods.
Today, Sunday, UNICEF delivered the organization's branch in Libya 65 tons of supplies and relief aid needed for the affected areas, including health materials, medicines, clothes, and a number of school supplies.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Affairs, Adel Jumaa, the Director of the National Center for Disease Control, Haider Al-Sayeh, and the UNICEF Representative to Libya, Michele Servadi.
