The Egyptian Ministry of Defense announces the participation of a number of search and rescue aircrafts in recovering bodies in Derna.

Cairo, September 19, 2023 (LANA) - The Egyptian Ministry of Defense said that a number of search and rescue aircraft continue to participate in operations to search for the injured, recover bodies, and provide support to the areas affected by the devastating hurricane that struck Libya during the past days.

The Ministry confirmed in a statement on its website that these efforts come in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to support our brothers in Libya.

The Ministry indicated that the Egyptian Armed Forces established the Egyptian relief camp in the Martouba area within the affected areas near the city of Derna to relieve the citizens affected by the hurricane and provide them with all aspects of medical and humanitarian care.

The statement explained that the Egyptian Armed Forces also provided many urgent humanitarian aid and means of subsistence to citizens in many areas that are difficult to reach and exit from.

The Egyptian Ministry of Defense confirmed in its statement that this comes based on the established Egyptian constants towards its fellow countries in the face of all crises and adversities.
