Benghazi, May 29, 2023 (LANA) - The Libyan Parliament condemned the aerial bombardment that the city of Al-Zawiya has been subjected to for days, by means of drones.
The council said in a statement published by its official spokesman, "Abdullah Blehaq," on its official Facebook page, that the bombing came to settle political scores and not to combat smuggling, as claimed by those behind it.
The council added that the evidence for this is the bombing of the house of a member of the council for Zawiya, deputy "Ali Abu Zaiba," and that it was carried out without coordination with the competent authorities, according to the text of the statement.
The Council's statement indicated that this bombing is a violation of Security Council Resolution 2570/2021 and that it will address the 5 + 5 committee, the UN mission, the UN Security Council, the International Criminal Court and the Turkish Parliament regarding the attack on the city of Zawiya.
