Al-Mangoush briefed the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government on the results of its official tour to a number of Arab countries.

Tripoli, May 23, 2023 (LANA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Naglaa Al-Mangoush, affirmed that there is an Arab consensus on the importance of holding national elections in Libya.

This came during her meeting with the Prime Minister, "Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba," today, Tuesday, at the Prime Minister's Office, after her return from her official tour to a number of Arab countries, to mobilize Arab support to end the transitional stages in Libya and support holding elections, in addition to coordinating joint Arab efforts and positions towards the challenges in the Arab world.

Al-Mangoush briefed the Prime Minister on the positions of the governments of the countries she visited, pointing to the importance of maintaining a unified Arab position towards supporting holding elections and ending all transitional stages in the country.

The minister also followed up with "Al-Dabaiba" the developments of Arab and international efforts aimed at reaching a permanent cease-fire in Sudan. During the meeting, the prime minister expressed his appreciation for the Saudi role in leading the peace talks between the brothers in Sudan.

During the meeting, they also discussed government measures implemented by the Ministry to organize diplomatic work abroad and ways to overcome all difficulties facing Libyan citizens abroad, facilitate all procedures for them, and work to continue strengthening relations and bonds of friendship and joint cooperation between Libya and brotherly and friendly countries in all fields.

Foreign Minister Naglaa Al-Mangoush conveyed to the President of the Government of National Unity the pledges of a number of Gulf countries to begin work to open their embassies in the capital, Tripoli.
