Cairo, May 17, 2023 (LANA) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed with the Italian Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetti, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Italian forces, Giuseppe Dragoni, developments in the crisis in Libya.

The official spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, "Ahmed Fahmy," said that the meeting, which was held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in the presence of the Minister of Defense and Military Production, Lieutenant General "Mohamed Zaki," and Ambassador "Michele Quaroni," the Italian ambassador to Cairo, touched on the phenomenon of illegal immigration, and the need for concerted efforts to advance mechanisms for facing cross-border challenges.

With regard to developments in regional issues, especially Libya and Sudan, the two sides agreed on the importance of advancing political solutions to the various crises the region is going through, within the framework of preserving the unity of states and the integrity of their lands, in a way that meets the aspirations of peoples towards restoring security and stability, and moving towards development and prosperity.
