Tripoli, March 21, 2023 (LANA) - The US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Barbara Leaf, affirmed her country's efforts to the UN envoy, Abdullah Batili, regarding the elections in Libya.

"Leaf" stressed, in a tweet on Twitter, "the United States' full support for the efforts of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Batili, and his work with Libyan leaders and institutions to develop a constitutional framework and timetable for elections this year."

Barbara Leaf is visiting Libya these days, during which she met with a number of Libyan officials to discuss recent political developments in the country and unify international and local efforts to support the efforts of the United Nations Mission to Libya in order to reach the elections.
