Al-Dbaiba: Government will provide food aid to needy families in Ramadan

Tripoli, March 09, 2023 (and) - Head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid al-Dbaiba, reaffirmed the government's commitment to the principles of disclosure and transparency in government expenditures and development contracts, and ensuring their fair distribution throughout the country. 

Al-Dbaiba said in his speech during his presidency of the third cabinet meeting for 2023, held in the city of Al-Khums. In the fields of energy, electricity, infrastructure, health and education, as well as the implementation of the unified salary scale in pursuit of social justice.

Al-Dbaiba confirmed that his government dealt with the file of financial releases professionally, and we set a development plan for 2023, the regular disbursement of the wife and children's grant, the granting of university students, basic pensions, health insurance for retirees, and various initiatives, indicating that the salaries of the month of March will be disbursed before the month of Ramadan, and the formation of an emergency room to follow up on the availability of food commodities and monitor their prices, noting the continuous work of the General Electricity Company and its employees in order to complete its comprehensive plan for the development of this sector.

Al-Dbaiba stressed that all ministries and government agencies should implement the government's decisions related to reducing expenses, transparency in contracts, and announcing all needs through the platform for government procurement, and that his government will not protect any person involved in corruption or who fails to serve the Libyan people.

Al-Dbaiba announced that the government will provide food aid during the month of Ramadan to about 68,000 needy families registered in the Zakat Fund, represented in the needs of the Libyan household in terms of meat and basic foodstuffs.
