Batili briefs the representatives of Gabon, Ghana and Mozambique as members of the Security Council about the political situation in Libya.

Tripoli, February 04, 2023 (LANA) - Yesterday, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Abdullah Batili, briefed the representatives of Gabon, Ghana and Mozambique, as members of the UN Security Council for Africa, on the political situation in Libya.

"Batili" said in a tweet via his account on the social networking site "Twitter" that the meeting, which was held via video communication, was appropriate to highlight the importance of the participation of the African Union in resolving the multidimensional crisis in Libya.

Batili pointed out that he renewed his request for their support for the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.

He stressed that the meeting dealt with the constitutional track, the general political situation, and national reconciliation, in addition to discussing the security situation in general, especially with regard to foreign fighters, and its repercussions on the Sahel region.
