Cairo, November 28, 2022 (LANA) - The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, "Ahmed Aboul Gheit," renewed the League's support for everything that would push forward the course of the political process in Libya, foremost of which is the resumption of dialogue on establishing a constitutional basis on the basis of which elections will be held.

This came during his meeting today with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, "Aquila Saleh," at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League in Cairo, where they exchanged views on the developments of the situation in Libya, according to what was stated by the official spokesman for the Secretary-General of the League, "Jamal Rushdi."

During the meeting, Aboul Gheit stressed the importance of serious endeavor by all Libyan actors to end all manifestations that threaten the country's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Abul-Gheit welcomed what the Speaker of the House of Representatives mentioned about the importance of the role of the League of Arab States in the Libyan file, through its support for efforts to advance dialogue among Libyans, leading to the crystallization of a consensual vision and a conducive environment for holding the expected elections.
