Sunday, November 20, 2022 (LANA) - The United Kingdom's ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, condemned the attempt to prevent the High Council of State from holding its sessions in the capital, Tripoli.

This came during a meeting with the head of the High Council of State, Khaled Al-Mashri, today, Monday, with the British ambassador, in the framework of discussing local and international efforts to resolve the political crisis in the country.

The media office of the President of the Council said that the ambassador expressed her country's refusal to use force in political disputes, stressing the need to preserve and expand the democratic space in Libya.

The two parties stressed the importance of consensus between the House of Representatives and the High Council of the State on a constitutional basis and a single executive authority. In order to find a solution to the political crisis and to complete the electoral process.
