Tripoli, October 2, 2022 (LANA) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, "Najla Al-Manqoush", discussed today, Sunday, with the Ambassador of the European Union to Libya, Jose Sabadell; The latest developments on the political scene in Libya.
The two sides discussed many files, including what was reached on the necessity of activating the agreement concluded with the European Union, which includes many rights for children infected with HIV, in addition to facilitating the granting of “Schengen” visas to Libyan citizens, the files of economic and security support provided by the European Union to Libya and the efforts of the Presidential Council and the Government of National Unity to make the steps for national reconciliation a success.
Al-Manqoush appreciated the position of the European Union in support of the Libyan people, and stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of National Unity continue to perform their work and will not retreat from their role in promoting stability in Libya and preventing any attempts that would obstruct their efforts to hold elections as soon as possible.
For his part, Jose Sabadell affirmed the European Union's continued support for Libya, until it reaches the stage of permanent stability and the holding of the presidential and parliamentary elections that the Libyan people aspire to.
