US Embassy: Al-Kabeer and the US Assistant Secretary of State agree on the importance of ensuring that Libya's resources go to provide basic services and support the Libyan people.

Tripoli, October 1, 2022 (LANA) - The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, "Siddiq Al-Kabeer", met in the capital, Tunis, with the US Assistant Deputy Secretary of State, "Joshua Harris" to discuss the bank's efforts to enhance transparency and disclosure.

    This came during a meeting between Al-Kabir and the US official yesterday, Friday in Tunisia, where the meeting dealt with global economic challenges, and the Central Bank's achievement of financial and monetary sustainability in Libya, according to a publication by the bank on its Facebook page.

The publication added that the meeting was attended by the Chargé d'Affairs of the United States Embassy in Libya, Leslie Ordman.

 For its part, the US embassy said in a tweet posted on its Twitter account, "The meeting discussed the Central Bank's efforts to increase transparency and enhance economic stability, and they agreed on the importance of ensuring that Libya's resources go to provide basic services and support the Libyan people."
