Minister of Economy and Trade chairs a workshop of reviewing results of study and analysis of the challenges.

Tripoli, 28 September 2022 (Lana) GNU Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammed Al-Haweij in the presence of Ambassador of the EU to Libya Jose Sabadell and Deputy Director of Programs at Expertise France, took part in a workshop designed to review results and analyzing challenges facing the business environment and the investment climate in Libya, which was implemented by the French Experts Foundation from the EU, in cooperation with Ministry of Economy and Trade and all economic and private sector institutions.

Al-Haweij stressed in his speech importance of this workshop which is among the priorities in ministry's strategy to diversify the private sector by improving business environment and investment climate, noting the importance of partnership between Libya and EU in all economic, environmental, security, and political areas ,where he stressed the importance of Libya's location in the Mediterranean in general ,as well as to its importance in the economic link between Europe and Africa ,through cooperation and joint investment in areas of traditional and renewable energy ,and free zones, transit trade, green economy, tourism, and blue economy.

The EU Ambassador indicated the importance of cooperation with Libya in improving business environment and investment climate in Libya, which is a priority to the EU to stabilize Libya and increase economic cooperation and joint investment, stressing to the EU's commitment to continue support Libya in these areas, especially in energy, green economy, and economic diversification.

During the workshop, a plan of the Ministry in area of improving business environment and economic diversification was reviewed, also the results of studying and analyzing the reality of Libyan business environment and the measures required to improve it, as well as reviewed reality of Libya within the international indicators to stimulate the investment climate.
