Algeria and Italy agree Libya is a point of convergence and agreement.

Rome, 26 January, 2022 (Lana) - The Algerian ambassador to Italy, Abdel Karim Touahrieh said that his country and Italy consider that ‘Libya is a point of convergence and agreement between them’, and that the problem of Libya lies in the presence of different countries, through mercenaries and foreign militants, or through financial and logistical support, and without that intervention, Libya would have regained its stability and its natural political dimension.

In an interview with the Italian news agency "Nova", the Algerian ambassador said that Algeria ‘wants to guarantee the freedom of Libyans to choose their preferred political situation and the people who govern them’.

 He added, ‘We must make the views of "Algeria and Italy" converge more and increase contacts in order to find solutions that allow the Libyan parties to sit at the negotiating table and find acceptable solutions, and I think that our two countries have a lot of work to do to allow the Libyans to find a political solution for all."
