Pulbished on:

Tripoli, 18 January 2022 (Lana) Vice President of Presidential Council, Musa al-Koni, on Tuesday received Niger's Ambassador to Libya Isiad Ag Kato, who came with a fraternal message from President Bouazoum.

Al-Koni underscored the close relationship with Niger, as Libya’s natural strategic depth, and combines cultural and cultural integration which goes back deep in history and in geography. This is, he said, added to the social and economic integration and harmony, borders were a point of encounter and cohesion.

Al-Koni regretted that the border had become a source of concern because of the exploitation of cross-border gangs, human traffickers and militant groups, and the difficulty of the current circumstances, and their use of common borders for criminal and terrorist purposes. This the thing that needs coordination between the two countries, he said.

Al-Koni stressed the need to focus on economic exchange and the need to work to complete the road linking Libya and Niger, which will contribute significantly to increasing the trade between the two countries.

For his part, the Ambassador of Niger stressed that the process of completing the road linking the two countries is a dream for all Niger, as a land-locked country, to have a trade corridor through Libya, allowing it to communicate with wider spaces, especially with the countries of the North, which will establish a significant economic movement, which will create opportunities and contribute to the revival of the social and economic renaissance and stability of the region.

The ambassador considered Libya to be the focal point for the security and stability of the region and the continent. Because the stability of Libya is a stability for the entire neighborhood, and if Libya’s stability is shaken, the whole continent will suffer, he added.
