HNEC Announces New Provisional Results of Elections

\nTripoli, 24 February 2014 (LANA) The High National Election Commission announced new results from the Constituent Authority of the Constitution elections of some constituencies.\n The results involved were of Sirte, Tripoli, Al Zawiya, Obari, Ghadamis, Greater Benghazi and Ajdabiya including two seats for women and one for the Tuareg.\n The Commission said the results were provisional and reflected the entry of more than 70% of votes from every constituency declared, and added that initial results would be declared when all results of the provisional results were entered.\n Elections at the polling stations that did not open or suspended on the voting day would be re-run so voters can cast their votes, the President of the Commission Nuri Al Abar said, adding that securing those stations was the responsibility of the GNC and the government.\n The Commission however said in an earlier press conference that election would be held on Wednesday Feb 26, for the polling stations that were suspended on the day of elections.\n =LANA=\n
